Androgyny Style

Androgyny is an ace-in-the-hole for fashion shoots. It denotes a genderless figure, usually anemically thin, nubile, and with an innocent gaze. Androgyny in contemporary culture was highly influenced by trends in the ‘70s and ‘80s (David Bowie, Liquid Sky, Culture Club), and boomed in the 90’s with campaigns for Calvin Klein, Helmut Lang, Giorgio Armani. The fashion industry today is overly-saturated with androgynous models to the point at which it’s utterly uninteresting.
